ROUNDHOUSE
This Readers Group meets on the first Monday of the month in the
library between 6 and 7 pm. We are a small group of friendly people who
enjoy
having informal discussions about books and authors.
Each month we
choose a
particular author or genre of book to read, or sometimes we have a
"lucky
dip" when a variety of books and authors are put in a box and each
member of
the group has a "dip".
Often the person is surprised, curious or eager to read their choice for
the
month .Some meetings will focus on authors who write in the same style
or
genre, eg: crime, sagas, historical or humour.
The idea of the group meetings is to widen the reading experience
and to try new authors. Some of the authors we have read recently are
Stephen Booth - Black Dog, Arthur Golden - Memoirs of a Geisha and Anita
Brookner - Bay of Angels.
Everyone is made welcome and opinions and views
on
reading are received with interest and respect.
